Quick Information
Mossuril is a coastal district of Nampula Province that holds some of the most beautiful and least visited beaches in all of Mozambique. Separated from the world-famous Island of Mozambique by a narrow channel, it offers a quieter, more authentic alternative for coastal tourism in the north.
Chocas Mar beach, the crown jewel of this area, stretches for kilometres of fine white sand lined with century-old coconut palms. Its warm shallow waters, with coral reefs within reach of swimmers, make it perfect for families and diving lovers.
"In Chocas Mar, time slows down. No rush, no crowds — just the sound of the waves, the wind in the palms and the genuine hospitality of the people of this coast."
A few kilometres away, Carrusca Beach and Cabaceira Beach complete a trilogy of wild beaches where nature still reigns supreme. The village of Cabaceira Pequena, with its historic mosque and dawn fish market, is a living window onto Swahili-influenced coastal Macua culture.
